. elections .

it been a long ride. I can say that, cause I have been reading every interesting (i say interesting, because there are articles out there that are downright idiotic and useless) articles on the elections on reuters and possibility nyt. I followed, I looked over thecourse of many months, from the nail-biting democratic primary, right down to the really nail-biting election.

and was it historical. It wasn't just that he was the 1st African American president.. to me, it was cause America was on the edge of a huge mess and there was still a lingering hope that someone can bring them back to the older days. There is a possibility of recovery, a faint sight of light... He promised hope and change. In days where bleak conditions make it seem harder than usual. He said we can, and we will. In times when we doubt everything and everyone. He brought the will to fight back, the strength to soldier on. And that to me, is historical.

I doubted his abilities, his experience, more than once. I said Democrats might have it easier if they had Hillary instead of him. Because, fighting against the idea of a frighteningly fierce and capable woman being the president might be easier than fighting against the idea of an inexperienced and black man. Because fighting one front might be easier than fighting against two.

I saw each and every of the significant gaffes and strokes of brilliance. I held my breathe as I waited for the votes to be counted at the primaries and the election on 4th. I was warily hopeful. I feared someone out of touch, someone without experience and general intelligence will be chosen instead. His opponent is admirable. I have met many amazing Americans that support the republicians. But, just like how an ineffective teacher can be a great person but just inefficient in the profession of educating, a nice person who had an admirable past can be a crappy leader in time of crisis too... and a nice and lovely multi-tasking mom can be a great person/mom but not necessarily so in a place so near to the power seat.

Now that everything is settled... there is a sudden sense of loss... what do I look at each time I keyed in my favourite news website. Suddenly, the daily routine of looking at the news seem redundant...

Silly me, there is still the change and hope we are promised of...

.hurl.spew.

i just spent like 30 minutes complaining to my mum abt %^&*(#@ pple in school..
there are those sticky girl/boyfriends that clog up the very narrow corridor in the crumpling building...
those that stroll down the park, enjoying the scenery and (I suspect, knowingly) cause a traffic jam behind them..
these are those that dont know people actually need to concentrate and listen to lecture cause that's what students are in school for, and continue to talk, eat, laugh as loudly as possibly, even as you stare and stare till your eyes are popping out
those that never ever remember their phone ringtone/alarm/sms alert/god-knows-what are not nice enough that they have to share with the whole lecture/tutorial group
these are those who are persistent stubborns who insist on typing their sms/appointments with the freaking annoying key pad sounds on
there are those that expects you to update them on the meeting progress even if they are the nth person who come in and you have been updating (non-stop) since forever
there are those who expect you to help them with things she/he and even -datah!-you don't know, just cause it's ALWAYS a bigger deal that she/he don't know
there are people that just havent learn the art or too conceited and think the sun shines out of their butt to even fake an attempt to listen or follow others' advise - You have half a mind to say: I told you so. But that would mean you actually care when you don't give a d**m. it's not worth the effort. They are not worth the effort...
there are those that ask for help whenever any little thing pops up
there are those that expects you to listen to crap and actually agree
there are those whose priorities you never understand-studies, activities or just being a know it-all-pain-in-the-arse? you can never figure that one out
and there are those who spends her time whining instead of doing work cause she is soooo sick that the going is rough and irritated with #$%^&*( people that she needs to start blaming and stop being a weak idiot.
enuff said
I dont think I ever complained about annoying people in UNC (go tarheels!!) maybe its the environment, the change in mentality, the change in pressure point... but it's ironic how they believe in their own individual freedom of speech/actions... but take care to respect others' rights at the same time.. while we can be so selfish with the idealogy of rights and freedom (in general) yet be so generous when it comes to abusing others' rights...

i once read.. the universal conspire to help those who has the will to focus on what they want. everything falls in its place and every one in its path will provide help and support. i saw that in places you never thought possible... yet i don't see it in places where i need to see it.

the appeal process, at its best, is one that allows you to interact more with your school officers, till the point you know who are the ones that are efficient and helpful from those who are less aware if students problems. the appeal process, at its worse, is a glimpse of hell. i have never been dead so i cant possibly image how horrible it can be.. but the appeal process sure comes close. the nail biting anxiety, the hair pulling insanity, the brain eating agony.. the world crashing desperation, the explosive Armageddon... it eats up your mood and energy, making you grouchy, mindless and terribly upset. it sucks away your optimistic feelings, your positivity, especially with people taunting you... i need more than phelps and the games to take my mind off worrying matters.. i need his courage and imagination to do so.

pardon me while i go puke
