It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday, [down] on bended knees, I'll make love to you, water runs dry, a song for mama, end of the road..
so so many great classic songs from Boyz II Men... before all the N'sync, all the backstreet, the westlife, there was them.. and after them, they are still here... 16 years..
They were on a 6 week tour in Europe a week ago and but they were "glad to be home"... and I am so glad I went to their concert... with the right attire too (short sleeve sequin, shorts and flip flops, great in hot weather and for standing throughout the concert)... it's a great one.. a great virgin concert.. linkin park, rock bands like mcr, click five.. or mayday, jazz or slow ones like michael buble would have been a great experience (they are the ones I would love to go for my bd, with bestie...) but for the 1st one, the 1st special one, I can't pick a better place or band for the experience... and I don't even need a camera.. I took many mental pictures.. that may fade with time, may distort with memories .. but will always be around.. no matter what..
a classic band, a band that I hear often in my fav music station, a band that is so american and so loving and heart warming.. its a concert that even kids can go to.. there were many black kids there.. and I think its a great influence... with right role models and all.. and the band even told the audience to whip out their cell and call the mothers when they sang the song... with cell phones amidst the dark dean dome, it looks so beautiful...just like how I always, will always love those many think are cheesy dance moves.. so clean cut, so in-tune with the songs and so so boy-bandish that I absoultely love...
nine days from nashville, new york open for them at 8, with some great songs and also a fav band song: story of the girl... beautiful~... we waited a while while people streamed down nearer to the stage to dance and scream there... and many took the time to take photo with Roy Williams (coach to tar heels men's basketball).. poor guy, cant even get to a concert without getting mobbed.. lol. but I understand his celebrity-like status in UNC.. there were even body guards by his side for heaven's sake...
the organisers came up and talk abt springfest. a festival event is set up for the students (free! paid for the tuition fees and all I believe) as the year comes to a close so there is proper closure.. it has been a amazing academic year, with trips to different parts of the US (my sis may favor Europe over any other place because of her frequency there.. and the many many cities she has been so fortunate to visit but there is no doubt that mine is the US, the thinking, the culture and beautiful people are just breath-taking.. I don't know about Europe but the idea of freedom, progress, hope and optimism here is something that is unique and beautiful) and I cant think of a better time and band to end the year... lol~ it's been such an experience.. and I can't tell you how fortunate I am in NC chapel hill.. there is NO better place to be in..not california, not washinton, boston,NY, belgium, Sweden, Norway.. I mean they are pretty places to be in, but if you are looking for a mixture of tranquillity, study, party, drinking and family culture, action and peace, there is only chapel hill.. it can be boring but it is a uni culture.. through and through.. very american... :)
I am listening to all the amazing hits from their Legacy: Greatest Hits Collection album and it's great.. I am so glad I went there. a perfect end to the beginning...
